A First Anniversary

The first of December 2009 is the first anniversary of buying our home in Colorado. Who knew back then everything would work out so well when we took a major leap of faith to change our lives from Santa Barbara to Longmont without promise of employment or knowing what was next?  We made a decision to focus on the positive and trust the Universe to joyfully flow in wonderous ways to open up opportunities for us to establish our life in a new community. Within the eight months since we moved, we have come to enjoy and appreciate what Longmont and the surrounding area has to offer. It's all a part of the adventure.

I have no doubt  "planning and persistence is the path to prosperity" and my photography business will once again flourish in the new year. The lower level will be finished this month and have a lovely professional studio space to devote to portrait photography of people, pets and whatever else I am so inspired to photograph. I can't wait to create! We are really glad we contracted with Brooks Design-Build to do the project, it has been a wonderful experience to work with them, they are first-rate and reliable.

I wholeheartedly am a new member of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce to participate in the different programs and events they provide. I want to get to know the people and businesses who are the heart and spirit of Longmont. This is home sweet home and we are here to stay for a long while in the "third chapter." Of course I have learned to never say never, but we find Colorado absolutely breathtaking with the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains and the ever changing weather. [I really need to wake up early to catch some of the incredible sunrises with clouds in the sky. I often catch a peak when I am briefly awake and say "OMG, how beautiful, I really need to get up" and then jump back into bed. It's hard for me to be a morning person as I like to sleep until 8 AM.]

I was talking to my friend, Joyce Johnson, this evening and she was saying how cold it was in Santa Barbara with temps in the forties. Couldn't help but be amused as we've got a forecast for temps in the twenties to single digits for the next few days. Welcome to Colorado!
