I had the pleasure and absolute joy to listen to the delightful sounds of Duobletake, (not a misspelling), a duo of musician Michael Bellmont (songwriter, singer and guitar/banjo/harmonica) and singer Joanna Schwab (vocalist and percussion). I have become an instant fan of their wonderful original acoustic-country-jazz-funk-folk music. I look forward to the CD release party on Thursday, April 22 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at Nissi's in Lafayette. Called a "delightful 21st century Ricky Ricardo supper club" by The Denver Post, I hear it's one of the best venues to hear live music so encourage you to make a date to see Duobletake.
This studio portrait session was to create images for publicity, website and and CD cover consideration. I selected some favorites and then played around with the Kevin Kubota photoshop actions to get different tones and looks. Thanks KK for making it so easy and fun to manipulate with a proven workflow.
Bella and Bogey are my favorite pet photography subjects! These photos are from a day in the life of our kitties on Valentine's Day. We woke up to a fresh layer of snow that was all gone by the afternoon.

I was thrilled to be highlighted in the Photographer Spotlight feature of the Longmont Ledger for Valentine's Day!

I have submitted a series of images to the Old Firehouse Art Center in Longmont, CO for 2011 gallery consideration. My artist statement: I have a passion for capturing the light and energy of the magnificence and splendor of the Rocky Mountains. This collection of selected images reflects the flow of change that began in Santa Barbara, was inspired by the Canadian Rockies and totally invigorated with the first of many hiking adventures in Colorado. All images were taken with a Canon 5D with no digital manipulation to enhance the image.
“I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its unfolding.”
-John O’Donahue

"I've learned that you shouldn't be afraid of change; instead, be afraid to stay where you are. . .
If you let fear of change rule you, you will live never knowing there is a fuller life out there
that is yours for the taking." -George Foreman
The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce held the first workshop of the Live Well series in 2010. I had the opportunity to take photographs of the event. Diane Sieg had a wonderful message and presented it in a comfortable manner. I really enjoyed listening to the program and even though I don't live life like an emergency, I look forward to practicing 30 days of grace in our retreat room.

Namaste

My favorite candid of people (Katherine and Tracy) at the program.
I did some small product photography for Terry Nichols of a new line of products at Cayenne Kitchen on Main St. in Longmont, CO. My old LaMarr Williamson canvas background is nicely lit and shows off the products well. I am so glad to be able to leave the backgrounds hanging in the studio.
