I did two head shots this week in natural light and within minutes as they were just "quickies" for the client. The reflective light in the alley against a brick wall and the open sky in the backyard late in the day makes for flattering light.
Donna Currie had an immediate need for a nice photo to leave a good impression for a casting call in Denver with the Food Network. I wish her the best of luck as she would be well suited with her enthusiasm and passion for cooking. Check out her blog at www.cookistry.blogspot.com/
My cousin Laura Diemer was in town for an all too brief visit and I wanted to update her profile image. She's a pretty woman with a beautiful spirit in the LIma family clan. It was rather late in the day when we got home after dinner at Anthony's so I only had time to grab a family photo to have as a keepsake of their visit. The boys, Nathan and Sam, have gotten so big since I saw them last five years ago. While the boys played ping pong and Wii games, I showed my cousin how I lightly enhance head shots in Photoshop and why I spend so much time sitting in front of a computer. They really enjoyed their visit to Colorado and discovered what a peaceful place the Rocky Mountains are. Live simply and move to Colorado cousin Laura!

The Miller Family was photographed at MacIntosh Lake, both with their shades with Long's Peak as a backdrop and in the shade for softer light.

The Paris Family was photographed at Chautauqua Park in Boulder.

This was a super fun portrait session to donate my time and talent to The Longmont Chorale to help them update their publicity photos for marketing and their website. This spontaneous portrait of the Sugar Beats was one of the favorites of Kathy, Anne, Paula & Robin.

We not only take family portraits and photographs of children, we also offer custom framing to enhance the images . Wall collections make wonderful family portrait keepsakes that capture your family history. This series of images was taken during a studio portrait session at Still Frame Gallery in Longmont, Colorado in honor of Jordan's one year birthday.

It was a lot of fun to photograph Jen, (Silver Creek High School) for her high school senior portrait in Longmont. We played with studio portraits using different backgrounds. I tested incorporating the column that is so prominent in the studio and can see it's going to work out great in the future! We worked around the afternoon thunderstorm to photograph in St. Stephen's Plaza, one block from the studio. It has lots of options in the afternoon light. Jen was a delight to photograph with a great smile and playful attitude.
